TAMPA, FL, April 2, 2018 – The Leisure Investment Properties Group of Marcus & Millichap (NYSE: MMI), a leading commercial real estate investment services firm with offices throughout the United States and Canada, announced the sale of the prestigious Gateway Golf & Country Club, located in Fort Myers, FL to The Club at Gateway LLC; this according to Steven Ekovich, First Vice President, National Managing Director and Director of the National Golf Division of the Leisure Investment Properties Group.
The Club at Gateway LLC was formed by prominent local businessman and builder Don Garrett of D. Garrett Construction Inc. The firm has been a fixture of the Naples “ultra-luxury” development landscape since 1981, be it mansions in Port Royal or villas on Moorings Bay. Their country club rangkuman is on equal footing having renovated the clubhouses at Royal Poinciana, The Club at Pelican Bay and The Naples Yacht Club, to name only a few. Former Gateway general manager, Jimmy Lynn, has also partnered with Garrett in this first venture into country club ownership. Garrett and Lynn have a multi-million-dollar renovation plan for the club scheduled to begin as soon as this summer. “We look forward to creating one of the finest clubs in Florida at Gateway” said Garrett.

Designed by Tom Fazio and built in 1989, Gateway consists of 18-holes of championship golf a 22,000-plus square-foot clubhouse with formal dining room, fitness center swimming pool and expansive practice facility.
